    Default Mink

we have quite a few of these on our shore. They are super fast and Ive only ever seen them at dawn, which makes them hard to shoot with bad light and a slow shutter speed.

That's pretty close for those little guys. Usually they are long gone when they see you. High iso and low shutter is better than no shot at all. Did you sneak up on them in your camouflage jacket?

Really like that second shot Jude, especially considering the lighting.
These little ones have very poor eyesight and rely heavily on hearing/scent, as does all the weasel family.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

That second one is awesome. Are they really that red colour or is that a reflection from the surrounding logs etc.

Id say they are a rusty/chocolate brown depending on the light

Thanks for the info HBG, i didn't realize they had poor eyesight, (I guess that's to my advantage)
